Shelley’s event industry experiences span over 20 years. Her position as the Events Coordinator & Events Supervisor with the City of Hamilton included working with event organizers that hosted events and festivals on City owned land. Shelley coordinated civic events such as Positively Downtown, July 1st, Christmas and New Year’s Eve Celebrations and many Mayors’ civic VIP visits.
In 2001, she became Events Manager to lead and coordinate a municipal staff team along with the organizers for the 2002 World Sailing, 2003 Bell Canadian Open and the 2003 Road National and Road World Cycling Championships.
Shelley worked from 2004-2007 at McMaster University, Department of Athletics and Recreation in capacity of Advancement Officer.
August 2007, Shelley joined Niagara College, Hospitality and Tourism Division, as Professor/Coordinator of the Event Management Graduate Certificate Program.
She currently is a board member of Niagara Food Festival and Hamilton Festival Network. She is a past Board member of Festival and Events Ontario.
