Event Description

The Holiday Trail is an outdoor, evening trail walk experience featuring a 1.5 km (round trip) illuminated path through natural areas along the Niagara Escarpment and Twenty Mile Creek and through the 1800’s heritage village of Glen Elgin at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area.

Along the way, visitors will get to take in the stunning winter vistas, including the 27-metre lower waterfall, illuminated like never before, and experience history in the village with each building lit up with thousands of lights.

  • This event requires advance reservation. Tickets must be purchased in advance of attendance.
  • Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable.
  • In the event of inclement weather or unfavourable conditions, the NPCA will contact all ticket holders via email to advise of cancellation as soon as possible and advise over social media channels and our website, npca.ca.
  • Funds raised from NPCA Conservation Area admissions and events support the operation of these significant natural areas, ensuring nature for all, for years to come.
  • Tickets must be purchased for your preferred timeslot.
    • Two timeslots per evening
      5:00 – 7:00 pm
      7:30 – 930 pm

  • Dogs are permitted on the Holiday Trail, but must remain leashed at all time (no more than 2 m).
  • Dogs are not permitted within buildings.
  • Service Dogs excepted.

Venue Information - Ball's Falls Conservation Area

Set within the breathtaking Twenty Valley, Ball’s Falls Conservation Area offers spectacular scenery and natural beauty. Your visit will begin at the Ball’s Falls Centre for Conservation.

Designed and built to have a limited impact on natural resources, this award winning LEED Gold certified facility features permanent and temporary galleries. Visitors will take pleasure in the interactive exhibits and displays focusing on nature, conservation, and culture in the context of the area’s history, the Niagara Escarpment, and the watershed. The centre is opened Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers a variety of programs and special events throughout the year.
