Event Description

Guelph Musicfest 2024 brings The Festival Trio to Thornbury (Blue Mountain). Violinist Sadie Fields (Brussels) and cellist Paul Pulford (NB) join pianist/director Ken Gee for this special repeat performance of the Guelph Musicfest season opener. Paul, Sadie and Ken are the founding members of the trio, and look forward to their annual reunion! The program pairs two of the greatest trios ever written – the invigorating Beethoven Trio no. 1 in E-flat and the sublime Schubert Trio no. 1 in B flat – with a mesmerizing and magical trio by British composer Charlotte Bray. The afternoon concert begins at 3 pm in Grace United Church, Thornbury, ON. More information... https://www.guelphmusicfest.ca/festivaltrio.html

Venue Information - Grace United Church Thornbury

Located in the heart of Thornbury, Grace United Church has ministered to the needs of the community since 1880 when it was built as a Methodist Congregation. With Church Union in 1925 it became a congregation of The United Church of Canada. Over the years, other Pastoral Charges throughout the valley have amalgamated with Grace, constantly enriching and expanding the Grace family.

The church welcomes chamber music concerts. It has a concert-ready grand piano and seating for about 200 people. The acoustics are excellent. Accessibility standards include a hearing assist system, and large font bulletins on request.  The main areas of the church are wheelchair accessible with a lift servicing all three levels. There is ample parking including designated wheelchair spots.
